So I didn't go away for 2 weeks. I had to cut my trip shorter. But I will still be gone from this monday through thursday, so don't be afraid without me. I think I'll be in the desert! And you know there's no better place for me!

Meanwhile, to keep myself sane, I am working on a sort of generalized "steampunk soundtrack". I love doing this sort of thing, and have often dreamed of doing it professionally. And I can't help it now, as the sort of music I equate with steampunk are my overall favorites.

So far I've got selected songs from bands like Die Form, Ekova, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Pentaphobe, Apocalyptica and of course, The Cocteau Twins. And more.

I have been into steampunk-type stuff from the age of, I think, 4 or 5. My firsts were Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and various Jules Verne and H.G. Wells novels. It's been a long-running thing for me, but only within the past couple of years have I been able to put a name to it.

And I am going in and out of manic fits waiting for summer to come.
